How to get rid of hackers and safeguard your Facebook Profile? This was my longtime hurt to find an answer, which eventually ended a few days back when I finally discovered this awesome security feature on Facebook. Let me share it with you as well.
Who doesn't know what is Facebook ! A globally accepted and the most popular social network platform, we use Facebook to keep in touch with friends, post photos, share links and exchange other information. But how often do we care about cyber security and safe usage policies. Quite often in past I found my friends lose their way long profile with so many followers or friends list in a fortnight, for a unique reason PROFILE HACKED. They not only loss friends and professional network links but most importantly they give away their personal data's which in some cases may cost them heavy.
Let's find out what are the possible causes and how can we prevent hackers from seeking into our profiles ::
You would agree with me if I say, it is very risky to access your personal Facebook profile on any public computers such as cybercafe or public kiosk etc. So what do we do to prevent unethical access by hackers and safeguard private information, avoid embarrassment or even losing face in our circle.
Facebook now allows you to create "One-Time-Password or OTP" to get in your account which will not be used again to login to your Profile.
I know that you are very excited and willing to know more about how to setup this feature in your account.
So relax and follow some easy steps, learn and apply ::
## To request a one-time-password or OTP (in short form) to log into an unknown or insecure device,
you need to send a text message with the message "otp" to
9232232665 (for Webaroo - Bsnl network) or to 51555
(for any-other Indian network).
Within a minute, you will receive a text message in reply with unique one-time password.
## Go to Facebook login page. First enter your username or email id and followed by the 8 digit otp into the password field. If you enter everything OK following my instruction, within 20 minutes you log into your Facebook profile without worrying.
Note ::
** Please note that the OTP password is valid for twenty minutes.
** Do also note, in order to use the Facebook one-time-password system, you need to register and verify your mobile phone with Facebook first. This is necessary to prove that you are the owner of the phone number for your smart gadget .
